Annual Inter-Sectional Athletics Competition
The University Basic School successfully hosted its Annual Inter-Sectional Athletics Competition at the University's Athletics Oval.
This year marks the 36th edition of the Annual Inter-Sectional Athletics being here at the University Basic School, Legon. During these three days friendly sports rivalry was activated between Sections Green, Blue, Yellow and Red.
These competitions are often held to promote a sense of community, camaraderie, and healthy competition among the students.
The events typically included sprints, middle-distance races, relays, hurdles, jumps (such as long jump, high jump, and triple jump), throws (such as shot put, discus, and javelin), and pole vault. Athletes compete individually or as part of a team, earning points based on their performance in each event.
These competitions provided an opportunity for athletes to showcase their skills, compete against their peers, and potentially qualify for higher-level competitions. They also served as a platform for the School to identify talented athletes and encourage participation in sports and physical activities.
